Passion, precision in method and dedication to the region: to grow complex wines with character.

The vineyards
On good land a good plant can grow.
Precision and respect for the land are typical of the Riva family of Franciacorta’s wine producing. Their wine cellar is carefully managed with far- reaching ideas such as showing respect for the land and plants which play such an important part in any future wine development.
Knowledge of different soil types allows qualified technicians to personalize cultivation of many grapevine varieties. Today, the Riva family has about 34 hectares within the heart of Franciacorta, an area between the municipal districts of Passirano, Monterotondo and Paderno.
Rootstocks and wine grafts are carefully chosen in relation to the region’s soil type. It is precisely these influences on which the expected wine character depends.
The management of a high number of wine grafts, approximately 20 spread over 6 Franciacorta subzones, is operatively very demanding but it guarantees that the wines obtained are detailed, with character and evolve positively over the years.
